Private healthcare in Nigeria is provided by private hospitals and clinics outside government ownership, but under regulation and control by governments. Private healthcare facilities provide services for 70% of the population, constitute 58% of the nation’s health facilities (primary health centres, clinics and hospitals), have 29% of beds (out of a total of 134,000 in the country) and 81% of doctors.
